PRAY FOR: Cinnamon Sugar, 8 yo. Hip Replacement surgery. Lord Jesus You know what a difficult time Cinnamon has had over the past year with her excruciatingly painful hips. Thank You for bringing mom Tamara and Cinnamon to this day they have long awaited. We ask that You would guide the surgeons in this procedure. Protect against infection and complication. Please enable Cinnamon’s body to accept this foreign object into her system and pave the way to rehabilitation of this hip. We ask that You would strengthen Tamara and Cinnamon for the days to come. Help them to have hope and determination to see a complete recovery. In the Name of Bara Elohim Creator God. Amen. <3 Caren

Tamara Morris 3-17-20: Thank you, Caren. Here’s what I can tell you at this point. Cinnamon will be having a “full hip” replacement on her right side. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the most severe and difficult to repair, her right hip is a number 4. They only do one at a time. If she were to have both replaced, it would be a minimum of 6 months in between. (cont. below)

Psalm 50:15 ESV And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

Joel 2:25-27 ESV I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

John 15:7 ESV If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Hi Caren, yes, please post about Cinnamon next Tuesday, March 17. I’m going to be a nervous wreck. I will get a phone report from the surge, but I won’t get to pick her up until the following day. I will try to post something when we get home.

Ok sweetie, I will. How about giving me some details about the surgery and what you expect to be done and the recovery process. I’m sure the rehab is going to be intensive. Is she getting both hips done at the same time? I don’t see how that would work…

Thank you, Caren.

She will not be able to walk on her own for the first few days. I will have a sling to go under her lower abdomen to take some of her weight. She is allowed to walk around as soon as she is comfortable, but walks outside are limited to 5 minute potty breaks only for the first 2 weeks. We will be “camping out” in the basement where there are no steps, no furniture for her to jump on, and easy access to the back yard. I already have a twin mattress moved down there for myself and will be moving her bed down there when she comes back from surgery.

After 2 weeks, she will have a checkup just to make sure everything is healing nicely. Assuming it is, she can start going for 5-min walks, 1-2x/day. Each week the walks get 5 minutes longer. I will be given PT exercises to do with her at home, and her regular walker used to work at a vet’s office and help the animals post-surgery. (That was a lucky coincidence I am grateful for!) Full recovery is expected to talk approximately 3 months, assuming there are no complications.

Her left hip is also displaced, but not nearly as badly. That one is probably a 2. With the new mechanical hip on the right, if I decide she needs the other one done, I will probably do a “half hip” replacement, which many dogs do ok with and it costs only 1/6 the price. I’m not doing that this time because her left hip isn’t perfect.

Thank you for all your help and support! Tamara

Certainly sounds life-altering to say the least. How gracious of God to provide you a dog walker who has that specialized bit of skill. I can definitely see his hand in that! You sound like you are more than prepared for whatever happens. I will be praying for both of you in the week leading up to this, and I will post her, Lord willing, on the 17th. I will go to her page to choose a photograph of her if I can’t find a suitable one I will let you know. Hang tough cookie, with God’s help you can do this! 💗🙏 Caren

This is Cinnamon unsuccessfully trying to convince me to throw her ball. She was miserable last night and this morning. No ball chasing for at least 3 months!

Surgery is still on for tomorrow. Only difference is that they won’t let me inside the building. It’s like the carpool lane at school. You pull up, they get her and her stuff out of the car, and you drive off. No human contact at all. They don’t even want me getting out of the car. No kiss goodbye or anything. 😭😭😭

I have her on my calendar. What’s that about- Coronavirus?
Tamara Morris
Yes. No human to human contact.
They are shutting down everything here…except my office.
Prayers for Pets
Hmmm, well you can be thankful that they’re willing to do it; our state is pretty much locked down we had doctor’s appointment scheduled that were cancelled altogether. I’m glad they’re willing to do it. It would be much worse to have to delay, right?

Tamara Morris
Yes, much worse. They are already booked up through next month. If they had to close altogether, I don’t know if we would go to the back of the line or everyone would shift. Either way, I’m happy she’s getting her surgery tomorrow. The next hurdle will be her post-op checkups and PT.

Yeah that’s good we just have to take it one step at a time. This is the craziest situation any one of us has ever experienced. Everybody’s trying to do the best they can. I think we need to give each other the benefit of the doubt more so than usual. These are truly times that try men’s Souls.

This is something good to think about:
Psalm 56: 3 When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?

I will be posting your baby girl in the morning, Lord willing. And I will be praying for you and her as you separate tomorrow; and for her as she goes under the knife. 💗🙏 Caren
