Creatures in Heaven

Revelation 5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”

Revelation chapter 5 is one of my favorite passages of Scripture. It speaks of the Messiah, Jesus who is the one worthy to be praised in heaven and earth. Jesus is called the Lamb in this passage and he is serenaded by a heavenly choir consisting of elders (humans), angels and animals. Perhaps the pets we have loved and lost will be in their number. We will not know until we get there.

As I was worshiping the Lord this morning, this song came my way. I hadn’t heard it in quite a while. As I listened and sang the words I knew I had to share it with you all. In Ephesians 5:19 (ESV) we are encouraged to speak to each other this way:

Ephesians 5:19 (ESV) 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,
