‘Epic’ is struggling to breathe, mom Shannon is exhaused

Epic has been struggling mightily with a sinus infection. Photo: Shannon Lynn Smith

UPDATE: RIP Epic. You were such a precious girl. We are glad that mom Shannon was able to have you in her life for a whole year after you lost your leg to cancer. We cry for her now as she misses you so much. She knows that your struggle is now over and you are running with 4 legs again; and she will meet you there because she trusts Jesus sacrifice to bring her to you. Lord Jesus we ask that You would fill the Epic sized hole in mom Shannon’s heart. We know that only You can comfort her now. We ask that your presence and peace would be strongly felt as the grief comes over her in waves. Make each wave a little calmer. Help mom Shannon to ride the waves because You are captaining her ship. In the Name of Sar Shalom. Prince of Peace. Amen. <3 Caren

Shannon Lynn Smith 2-13-21: Update on Epic. I’ve had a hard time sitting down to write this. I’ve been very angry and very sad. Epic was in distress Monday. She was coughing a lot despite her medications and antibiotics. After talking with my vet and seeing how tired she was I had to set her free. My vet thinks this could have been some underlying cancer and that is why she couldn’t get over this infection. I’m beyond devasted. This is not at all how I thought God would handle this. I know she is in heaven with Him and some of my family that she loved. She has a new body now with all 4 legs. I just can’t believe she is gone. Thank you all for holding her up in prayer. It is so nice to have people who understand and love animals. I miss her everyday and cry a lot but I remind myself I will see her again one day. Life is so hard right now without her . I find some peace knowing she is pain free and whole.

PRAY FOR: Epic, 11 yo. Tripawd, Sinus infection. Lord Jesus we ask that You would help this sweet little Griffy who is struggling with all that’s in her to breathe. Thank You that mom Shannon is attentive to every need, but they are exhausted by this. Please cause the antibiotics to work, stop this infection in it’s tracks and bring Epic into complete healing. Help mom Shannon to keep her hydrated. Show them that they will see an end to this turmoil soon. In the Name of Adonai Rapha. God our Healer. Amen. <3 Caren

Shannon Lynn Smith 2-8-21: Epic is battling a severe sinus infection since having a dental 3 weeks ago. She had 2 teeth pulled and a pus pocket in her mouth. Thick snot in the nose and bad coughing. This got worse last saturday. It has been hard for her to breathe which means she hasn’t been eating. She has had humidifier treatments and honey water shots. She’s on antibiotics and nose drops. No fever, getting fluids. She had a better night last night. She got about 4 hrs. Sleep. She was able to eat a couple spoonfuls of food but the drainage causes the food to come back up from upset tummy and not smelling great right now she doesn’t want to eat.She kept a spoonful of food down this morning. She gets very small meals right now. She has improved some today. She and myself are functioning on little sleep.

Epic lost her leg to a rare tumor

My goodness Shannon what a difficult time you guys are having. I’m so sorry… I’m glad you posted on the group I’m definitely praying for you guys today. I will work on this later we are heading off to church soon. I will try to post her tomorrow morning. I have to take my husband to have surgery tomorrow so I’m not sure of timing. We are on the West Coast.
2 Timothy 1:5 ESV I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. πŸ’—πŸ’ͺπŸ€—πŸ™ Caren

She is very slim, but it sounds like you are keeping her hydrated, that is the most important thing right now. It looks like she is still alert and lively. How old is she now?
