“Harley David’s” ongoing struggle appears to be a rare Liver Disease
PRAY FOR: Harley David 13yo. Liver disease, nutritional imbalance, skin disease. Lord Jesus You know all about Harley David’s struggle to survive. Thank You that this Rescue is trying so hard to save him after he was dumped by his owner and left to die. We ask that Your will would be done with this special soul. Show his caregivers what needs to be done. Help them to keep him comfortable. We ask that You would enable his liver to function properly and help him to absorb amino acids well to nourish him. Mike Morgan 12-7-18: Hello !!! This is an Update posted a few minutes ago about Precious Little Harley David that all of us have been praying for “IN JESUS HOLY NAME” !!! Mike ———–Our Lil Bit of Heaven Rescue kid HD here to give you an update. The internal medicine specialist shared that my recent skin biopsies & current irritating symptoms where I continue to struggle both point to an uncommon liver dysfunction called hepatocutaneous syndrome, result being amino acid concentrations & depletion of epidermal protein which is the cause of my poor skin quality+. Major liver dysfunction causes problems with dog’s metabolism, leading to a nutritional imbalance & the degeneration of skin cells. Sooo, the reason I LOOK better & feel a tiny bit better is because we’ve been treating all of the secondary infections caused by an underlying BIGGER condition. Something about prognosis is poor & only months to a couple of years in very rare cases to live w/ ongoing supportive care. Sighhhhh (Cont. below)

Mike Morgan Cont.: BUT to truly diagnose, they did amino acid testing (special bloodwork) today & I’m going tomorrow morning for bile acid testing as recommended to confirm & best understand how to treat my case specifically to give me best quality of life possible so I can feel good & hopefully thrive. Seeing a nutritionist to discuss a new diet high in amino acids w/ specific supplements to also help me could be next step but 1st to get these 2 new test results back in the next 1-2 weeks. OLBH rescue has spent ALL funds on my treatments raised thus far (I know, crazy…but true!) so if anyone can give to help w/ these additional $550 in testing I would be so appreciative.
