Laura Fox Prayers for Pets licking her feet after being outside. Itching ears, and haunches. Licking her belly. We’ve been to the vet alot. Last winter was so wet here that didn’t help. I bathe her in a specific prescription shampoo and she’s on a limited diet. I believe it’s about the outside. Grasses and what’s in the air. But it’s a guess. I’ve tried everything….

Hello i watched the video you suggested. Yes Mercy’s allergies have been baffling and understanding what is the best steps to take has been scarey for me. I love this dog so much and only want the best for her

I know that dealing with allergies and locating what is causing them is extremely difficult; from personal experience. Have you taken all of the actions that Dr Becker mentions in that video? Tell me how you have changed her environment to try to eliminate her allergies. I know you said that you’re trying to keep her inside has that changed her symptoms?

Yes being inside more helps right now and not on grass as much. She has a particular shampoo to be bathed in twice a week from her vet. She’s on meds which I’m not giving her the whole dose only half of it. I wipe her down when she goes out and comes back inside. Her food is limited.

Science diet. For small dogs over 7 yrs. I noticed it’s the worst when it’s raining out

If I were in your situation I would try to feed her food processed only at home so you know every single ingredient that goes into it. Is she a senior? You probably don’t want to go raw if so, it may be too hard to digest and digestion is key.

I have tried so many types of shampoos till the vet gave me what I’m using now for her. I pray every day for Mercy to be well. It’s raining tonight and tomorrow so it will be harder on her. Plus she’s afraid of storms too

I post on other private Facebook groups. Often breed-specific groups, but if they’re mixed sometimes just regular private dog groups. I can’t tell what Mercy is. She appears to be part Shih Tzu, it’s hard to tell. Whatever she is she’s 100% adorable!

She takes after the shih tzu side definitely only just a bit bigger. She’s 12 lbs
She had a brother Toby. He was a Lhasa. He was 7 when I got Mercy. He died this past February. He was 16. It was hard on both me and Mercy.
He was such a good dog

We moved a year ago in October. We had a stressful move and Toby was not doing well. It was cold and wet here all winter. Mercy’s allergies started then much worse than she had ever had. And my brother was ill also. He passed 2 months ago. All this stress my baby girl felt with me

When my daughter was pregnant, she was carrying babies. One day she started having complications and had to have surgery as one baby had moved into a fallopian tube. So we lost that one. But the other baby was in the womb and safe. When I went to pick Mercy up from the lady I was getting her from, she said what are you naming her so I can put it on the paper? I said Mercy.
Because of God’s mercy we still have a baby. And he was born perfectly healthy and my daughter didn’t have anymore complications
And Mercy healed our family with her sweet puppy ways. 🙂

Oh my goodness how beautiful! You’re right, that was a story that needs to be told for the glory of our merciful Savior! My daughter is pregnant with her 3rd right now.
As I was praying for the allergies earlier I was moved to ask you about the possibility of being in a moldy house. It’s much more common than it sounds. You don’t even have to live in a cold wet area to have a moldy house. We lived in one that was in the middle of the desert because of bad drainage. It was our ‘dream house’ until we moved out and then we realized it was our nightmare house because it made me very very sick.

The house I live in my brother built in 1987. There is alot of wood inside this house. There’s no mold that we have found. We will be doing some updates this spring. Please pray for that.

Mold is often silent. It can live inside walls from an old leak (toilet, sink, etc.) for years undetected and growing in humidity.
