Sassy went to the Vet for a limp and discovered she has an enlarged heart

PRAY FOR: Sassy, 14 yo. Enlarged Heart. Lord Jesus we ask that You would help mom Marsha and Sassy to recon with this new diagnosis. Sassy’s heart is grieved at the recent loss of her sibling. She is blind and slowing down. Please use these new medications to enable her blood to pump more efficiently. Encourage mom Marsha to see that Your love for them is great. Imbue them with hope and thankfulness that they can enjoy however many days You are gracious to give them together. In the Name of Adonai Rohi. God our Shepherd. Amen. <3 Caren

Marsha Wood 11-5-20: I took my fur baby girl to the vet today, to have X-rays done, she fell off the bed and I was afraid she broke her leg, they looked at her, and told me they would like to get pictures of her chest also, so they took X-rays of her leg and chest, her leg wasn’t broke, just a spring, but I was told my baby girl has heart murmurs and an enlarged heart, I got meds for her, but im so worried about her please pray for her

Her birthday was oct 8 she turned 14 years young, idk if you can use one of those or not but I thought I would send those, my daughter took them for me, thank you

Ok, it was a few months back she fell off the bed, I checked her leg and she didn’t act like it hurt anywhere,, until she started limping and that’s when I took her to bet, yes she is on hart meds

I see. What an interesting route God used to get her to the vet and discover the heart problems. So you just learned about the enlarged heart on the 2nd?

She takes carprofen 25 me for her leg I believe, and furosemide 40 my and enalapril 5 mg
All mads are every 12 hours

Ok. Did they just put her on the heart meds last Monday?

Yes I just learned about her hart when I took her to get
Yes the day they seen her she was given the meds

Okay, is she short of breath? At her age it’s not entirely surprising that her heart is wearing down. Did the vet give you any prognosis?

Yes
Love her hart she can’t walk to far at all unless she stops to breath for 5 or 10 minutes
Her brother passed in April with se[izures] and I was so scared she had them

It was very hard I took him to get and they put him to sleep he had a grandma seizure, she missed him so much love her hart she looked for him for days

He was just laying on couch and started then he come out of it and
Wanted to go outside we went out and he done his business come back to me looking around and fell dawn and never come out of it,

I am not a Veterinary professional I can only advise you as a friend. But I have walked through many cases of chronic heart disease especially in dogs. Depending on the state of her heart she could survive for months even years depending on her symptoms.
Have you noticed any change in her since she began on the medications?

No all she does is get up eat and sleep, she’s blind so she doesn’t walk much

I thought it was because of her age she’s 14 now,

I wish I did it cost me almost 300 dollars for her vet call but she is worth it to me, I would do for her befor me

You might want to do a search to see what is available in your area. I’m guessing that you’re elderly? New expenses can be a challenge.
