UPDATE 2-17-20:

Julie Meyers

We have a name! Pippin. Pip for short. We really did like Trouble but so far he has been a really, really good pup.
Prayers for Pets
Pippin is wonderful, I LOVE it! I’m so glad he’s a sweet boy 😍💗🙏

PRAY FOR: Trouble??? 9 weeks old. Lord Jesus we thank You for this new life you have brought into the Meyers home. Please heal his cornea completely. We ask that mom Julie would be able to keep the eye clean and free from disturbance as it heals. Keep the chaos in the house to a minimum. Help this grieving kitty to reconcile himself to the intruder pup. Bring blessings and all good things to this family as they heal from Ralphie’s loss. In the Name of El Chaiyai, The God of Life. Amen. <3 Caren

Julie Meyers 2-14-20: Caren: Julie, Sean and their young children recently lost Ralphie to Lymphoma. He was only 1 yo. They had poured their hearts and finances into him hoping he would beat the cancer. Sadly that battle was lost. A couple of days ago they got a new pup. Just as they were trying to figure out what his name should be, he got badly scratched by their kitty who is still grieving Ralphie’s loss and had no patience for his puppy antics.

Deuteronomy 19b (…)I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

We both feel like we have been grieving his since his diagnosis. Today we took a big step in healing, we actually got a puppy. No name yet but he is adorable.

Much sooner than I expected as well, but after the 3 months of ups, downs and sadness we wanted some joy back. As my husband put it, we can’t ever replace Ralphie and getting another dog doesn’t make us love or miss him any less. I might not have been as ready but I can’t get Ralphie back. All I can do is keep him alive in my memories and honor him by giving another dog a loving home.

I love that Sean wanted to do that for you. [T]hat was a wise move on his part. A young family needs to have as much joy as possible during these years. Well done, both of you! Have you figured out his name yet? Who does he act like? You must tell me when he has a name, Then share him on the last Ralphie post I put up on the group.🤗🤗🤗💗🙏 Caren

The kids and I call him Trouble but Sean doesn’t like it. So no name yet. How are you feeling?

Prayers for Pets
Probably right on that one. It’s not exactly a sentiment you want to confirm. In the dog or the kids🤣 I’ll survive. My hands could use your prayers. How about you?

we are well except for puppy bites. We will pray for you and your hand. Sorry I had this all typed up and didn’t hit send.
we went to the emergency vet tonight. Our cat scratched the puppy in the eye.

Oh dear! Is he OK?
Julie Meyers
he got his ear too and there was blood all over. Yes he has a scratched cornea we have eye meds, pain pills and he has to wear the cone of shame. it should heal fine.
Prayers for Pets
Yikes! I was looking forward to introducing him through the website when he had a name. Silly me – I expected him to be in one piece! 😜 Does the vet expected to heal okay?
Julie Meyers
yeah he should be fine but we need to watch it because they said eye injuries can go bad quickly.
Prayers for Pets
Yes, I imagine so about the eye.
I was showing Victor the pictures of the new pup, and he said to make sure you know that he’s really happy for you. Then I showed him the picture of the cone of shame and he said well, maybe they should get goldfish instead. He was totally joking.! 🤣
I think I need to post [him] in the morning. But what do I call him? Lol Should I ask our people to help you come up with a name? That might be fun to do Just for kicks?

Julie Meyers
Haha! I know we can’t seem to catch a break. Tell Victor thank you. We are giving the cat a pass on this he has been mean to the pup since we brought him home. We didn’t think there would be much of a problem because this will be the 4th dog he has lived with. My sister thinks that he is grieving. He and Ralphie were playmates. The emergancy vet thought it would work itself out.
Julie Meyers
My daughter has been calling him Trouble and that is what Sean wrote on the intake form. After all this, I’m reconsidering, we don’t want to ask for trouble.

Prayers for Pets
Awww, poor kitty, of course he is grieving – Saying what is this? What is this? Obnoxious puppy about? Yeah, I think you’re right. You don’t want to ask for trouble!
Julie Meyers
to get back at the cat he fell asleep in his bed.
Prayers for Pets
One thing I’ve learned in my old age when you name something negative like that, it ends up defining them. In your mind and theirs.
Hahaha! Oh my goodness. He is a character.! 🤣😂🤗😅😎 I love him already!
You have Victor and I on the floor in laughter.
Yes, I think trouble is entirely too apt!

Julie Meyers
So one thing Ralphie did was put his foot on plates when he would lick them so they wouldn’t slip. First thing this guy did was stick his foot in his bowl while eating so it tips on its side.
Prayers for Pets
Hahaha Okay, I get it. Trouble he is but God can conform him Into his character. Our prayers are definitely good for something!
